I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biology – Microbiology from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Sarajevo. For my undergraduate thesis, I studied the cognitive abilities of the European green lizard (Lacerta viridis) from the Sarajevo region, in an international collaboration with the University of Antwerp (Belgium).
I began conducting field research on amphibians and reptiles in 2018 as an active member of the Herpetological Association in Bosnia and Herzegovina (ATRA – BHHU ATRA) and the Association of Biology Students in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I have been involved in various activities, including public outreach, education, and biodiversity conservation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as organizing conferences and biological camps. I also obtained my SSI Open Water Diver certification.
Currently, I am completing a Master’s degree in Biodiversity, Genetics, and Evolution at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto, as a member of the BIODESERTS research group. My master’s thesis focuses on comparing parasite diversity across dry and wet habitats, using two host models: the Guinea baboon (Papio papio), a large terrestrial omnivore, and the West African crocodile (Crocodylus suchus), a freshwater carnivore.
