I graduated in Forestry Engineering from Zambeze University in Mozambique in 2014. In 2016, I joined Lúrio University as a lecturer, where I also coordinated the implementation of mangrove ecosystem restoration projects in northern Mozambique.
I am deeply fascinated by mangrove ecosystems and am currently pursuing a PhD in Biodiversity, Genetics, and Evolution at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, Portugal. My research focuses on developing and validating spectroradiometer-calibrated ecosystem health indicators for the hyper-acidic landscapes of northwestern Saudi Arabia. Specifically, I aim to link vegetation and soil properties with satellite-based metrics to support evidence-based restoration planning.
This work seeks to provide essential insights for future restoration strategies and to develop innovative tools that identify the most appropriate and cost-effective approaches for prioritizing restoration sites and monitoring ecological recovery.
