I hold a bachelor and a master’s degree in environmental science from Isfahan University of Technology in Iran. For my master’s thesis I conducted the first assessment of genetic diversity of Caucasian black grouse in Iran and I collaborated with Ilia university in Tbilisi Georgia for that project. Following my studies, I worked as an environmental consultant, contributing to various projects, including Environmental Impact Assessments for development projects, drafting management plans for privately protected areas, and creating guidelines for captive breeding sites.
In 2023, I began my PhD with the BIODIV program, and for my thesis, I am investigating the genetic diversity, demographic history of Arabian wolf and hybridization patterns (Canis lupus arabs) with domestic dogs (C. l. familiaris). I will also analyze genetic characteristics of Iranian wolf (C. l. pallipes) and use whole genome data to better understand the evolutionary trajectories of these ancient and understudied subspecies. My goal is to use the findings from this research to support more effective conservation strategies for these vulnerable and understudied wolf subspecies.
