I completed my BSc in Natural Science at the Università degli Studi di Milano (Italy) in 2017, followed by an MSc in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution at the University of Porto and CIBIO (Portugal) in 2019. In 2025, I completed my PhD in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution at the University of Porto and the University of Exeter (UK), where my research focused on metapopulation dynamics and landscape connectivity in African vertebrates across aridity gradients, integrating landscape genetics, non-invasive genetic sampling, and spatial modelling to generate actionable insights for conservation management in West and North Africa.
My main research interests include molecular ecology, conservation genetics, reintroduction biology, landscape connectivity, herpetology, and integrative taxonomy, with a particular focus on the vertebrate fauna of West and Central Africa, spanning from the arid Sahara Desert to the humid Guinean tropical forest. Currently, my work relies on a combination of non-invasive sampling, microsatellite genotyping, camera trapping, and GIS-based spatial analysis to investigate genetic diversity, population connectivity, dispersal dynamics, and dietary ecology of primates and crocodilians in arid and semi-arid environments.
