I hold a bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Lisbon, where I also completed a curricular internship on ecological patterns of wintering shorebirds in the Tagus Estuary. In 2010, I finished a master’s degree in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources at CIBIO/University of Porto, with a thesis focused on phylogeographic patterns of reptile species in the Seychelles Islands.
At the beginning of my career, I was involved in the creation and implementation of EVOA, a birdwatching centre located in the Tagus Estuary Natural Reserve, where I worked as Assistant Project Manager for 12 years. In this role, I managed daily operations, including event planning, scheduling, budgeting, and team coordination, to ensure a high-quality visitor experience. I also played an active role in the conception, preparation, and management of multiple projects granted by national and international public funds, contributing to both the strategic and administrative aspects.
In 2024, I joined the BIODESERTS research group, where I am currently responsible for managing its ongoing projects, with a particular focus on those based in Saudi Arabia.
