I hold BSc degrees in Biology (2015) and Geography (2018) from the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, Spain; an MSc in Applied Ecology (2017) from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil; and a PhD in Biodiversity, Genetics, and Evolution (2024) from the Universidade do Porto, Portugal. Currently, I am a junior researcher at Biodeserts/CIBIO, where I am engaged in various biogeography-related research lines. These primarily focus on understanding how landscape processes — across different spatial and temporal scales — have shaped the uneven distribution of living organisms on Earth, with the ultimate goal of informing biodiversity agendas in the face of the ongoing climate and (intra-specific) biodiversity crises. To achieve these goals, I integrate macrogenetic and macroecological approaches, with a primary focus on the desert biotas of North Africa and the Arabian Peninsula.
